  1. Can't do full restore of Win2000Pro workstation from NT 4.0 Server

Is a full backup of a Win2000Pro workstation from an NT 4.0 server using BE
for Win NT/2000 8.5 only good for restoring user created files as opposed
to the Win2000Pro system, registry and other loaded software. TechNote ID:
231029 states this. Is there any Veritas document that states what can be
restored (and how) when one is using Windows NT4.0 with BE 8.5 for Windows
    NT/2000. Thanks for any help.

  2. Re: Can't do full restore of Win2000Pro workstation from NT 4.0 Server

Anything that NT4 doesn't know about cannot be restored from NT4.

    User data is fine.

W2K system state and stuff like NTFS5 quota and encryption is not restoreable

It is documented in the Administrators Guide for BENT. BENT installed on
NT4 does not allow the Windows 2000 System State to be backed up.
