Thread: Build 3315

  1. Build 3315

We are running 8.0 build 3315.. We are getting the following error on a full
    backup:

Storage device "QUANTUM 1" reported an error on a request to query entity
    information.

    Error reported:
    The object invoked has disconnected from its clients.^ ^ ^ ^ ^

I found a tech article for a mediafix, but it said it didn't apply to build
3315.. Is it possible I do need to apply this particular fix??? It says it
does apply to 3316 though... Im so close, will this fix possibly screw our
    system up?

    ALSO:

Im curious to know what triggers a "FAILURE" event on our backups? it seems
if there are more than 1 or 2 open files it can't backup it reports failure.
This is very unsettling as we don't consider a backup failed with 1-2 files
open and not backed up. Even if it reports the files were in use, but
backed up, it flags the backup as failure. What are we doing wrong???

    help !!!

I'm looking for the same answer about the failed backups. The log file says
"backup started...backup complete" through the whole thing like it's completed
successfully. Then the "verify started...verify complete" messages show
up like everything is fine and then it reports that the backup failed. I
checked the option for the Use Open File Option...Yes, with a Block and it
still failed. I'm trying Yes, without a Block tonight to see what happens.
According to the help, they lead you to think that it would report a successful
backup if you check that option. Mine hasn't yet. I just took this job
last week and this is the first thing I'm trying to resolve. Makes me nervous
when backups don't work for a long time and they haven't had a good one in
about a month and a half now.

Can't help on the other issue, sorry. Good luck though.

You can grab the free upgrade to v8.0.3316 and then apply the MEDIA FIX patch
or grab v8.5.3572 (also a free upgrade) which has the patch incorporated
