2nd try - BENT & inaccurate logs ....
Hi All,
Posted this a week or so ago, I may have just missed a response.
I use a DAT autoloader with BENT 8.0. The logs identify the tapes by the
media label on the logs. Except for the last one. the last one is not
identified at all.
In other words, if the backup spans for tapes, the log shows 3 media
numbers. Any one know why ??
I can easily prove the backup spans four tapes by leaving three in the
loader and reading the backup failure log the next morning !! :-(

Good Afternoon, & thanks for the response.
Here is a selected cut & paste, (the entire log is 5 pages)
Drive and media information from media mount:
Changer Name: HP 1
Drive Name: HP 0
Media Slot: 4
Media Cartridge Label: 4MM000056
Targeted Media Set Name: Media Set 1
<<snip>> (just directory data)
Drive and media information from media mount:
Changer Name: HP 1
Drive Name: HP 0
Media Slot: 2
Media Cartridge Label: 4MM000030
Targeted Media Set Name: Media Set 1
Backup set #9 on storage media #2
<<snip>> (just directory data)
Drive and media information from media mount:
Changer Name: HP 1
Drive Name: HP 0
Media Slot: 3
Media Cartridge Label: 4MM000052
Targeted Media Set Name: Media Set 1
Backup set #9 on storage media #3
<<snip>>
Then at the end of the backup - it states:
======================================================================
Job ended: Wednesday, March 14, 2001 at 8:04:04 AM
Job completion status: Successful
Notice that there is no 4th tape cartridge listed. If I leave out the
4th tape and simply leave 3 tapes in the loader, the job fails with the
following error: - note that it is trying to write to the first tape
again.
Media Cartridge Label: 4MM000056
Targeted Media Set Name: Media Set 1
The media provided to continue the backup already contains data
from one or more sets created during this operation.
The operation can not be continued
