  1. Job Completion Status: Failed

I am running BE 7.2 Multi Server Edition and when my backup job completes
it states that the job failed. The log shows that all my selections where
backed up but that it skipped a couple of files because it could not open
them. I have it set to backup open files with a lock. Is there a way to
have it show successful even if it skips some files. The files it skipped
were temp files created by an application that was being ran at a remote
    campus.

  3. Re: Job Completion Status: Failed

Skipped files will not result in a failed status
Look for a series of "^^^" on the line beneath the reason for the failure

Also The following is the list I use to determine the cause of a "FAILED"
status. If you have an editor that suports macros, set one up that you can
use to scan any failed job log.

    Access Denied
    Corrupt File
    Unable to Attach
    Job was Aborted
    Insufficient Memory
    The Media Operations was Aborted
    Drive Not Responding
    Lost Connection
    Not Found

I would also highly recommend the free upgrade to V7.3.2575 (BNT73I03,
POST2575, and the Revised SPANFIX and the MEDIA_FIX files from the downloads
    page.

All the V7.2 and the early V7.3 releases were BETA code as far as I am
    concerned.

  5. Re: Job Completion Status: Failed

I have Backup EXEC 8.5 on Win2000 server and am backing up Win2000 servers
    with remote agents installed.
I get successful on full backup and failed on diff backup.
Same files were in use. The differential had 1 filed verified different and
called it failed. How can I fix or override this?

I don;t think there is a way to bypass this. If you are going to ignore the
warning anyway, why bother to verify?
