  1. SQL7 errors, BE8/NT, trunc. log on chkpt.

I am using BE8 to backup SQL7. The selection tab of my backup job has the
SQL Server box checked as well as all of the filegroups under the SQL Server.
The BE8 documentation says to have the "truncate log on checkpoint" option
checked on all databases that I want to do a full database backup on. I
have verified that this option is checked on the databases in SQL7. When
the backup runs, an error is generated that says:

An error occurred on a query to filegroup Escrow..PRIMARY.

BACKUP LOG is not allowed while the trunc. log on chkpt. option is enabled.
Use BACKUP DATABASE or disable the option using sp_dboption.

    ^ ^ ^ ^ ^
Unable to open the item Escrow?PRIMARY - skipped.

Does anyone know why this error is occuring?

Please use SQL EM to clear the Trun. Log on ChkPT Properties of that DB.

What the docs say is that you cannot use truncate logs on chaeckpoint, not that
    you must use it.

    Remove that option

Also, why are you backing up filegroups rather than just the database?
