Thread: Catalog Index Update Fails

  1. Catalog Index Update Fails

After udpating from a previous version of BackupExec 7.3 to Rev. 2575 following
error message shows up in the NT 4.0 Server application log file every 30
    minutes:

    Error-ID: 34327
    Source: Backup Exec Catalog
    Type: Error
Description: (Trying to translate from the German version...)
    Update to catalog index (D:\Program Files\VERITAS\Backup Exec\NT\Catalogs\BeTopCat.idx)
    failed.
    Reason: The database modul can't find 'D:\Program Files\VERITAS\Backup Exec\NT\Catalogs\BeTopCat.idx'.
Make sure that parameters or alias names are valid and that no invalid characters
are used or that the path is too long. DAO.DbEngine
    d:\be\tadpole\2575r\becat\server\catalogindex.cpp( 283)

What can be done to correct this? Many thanks for your help.

  2. Re: Catalog Index Update Fails

From the main GUI, select Tools\Options\Catalog and specify the location
of the catalog files. Then stop all BENT services and delete
    BETOPCAT.IDX, and restart the services.
