  1. BENT 8.0 Build 3315, Virus question, tape performance

Misc. Questions not found on your knowledge base:
    (1) Is there any way to patch up to build 3315 without downloading the 120+
    meg file?
    (2) Is there any more general information available about the virus scanning
engine? ie. whose product is it, etc. Just curious.
    (3) I can't seem to get the backup performance over about 25mb / minute (Sony
SDT-9000), despite the fact that an identical tape on a Novell server consistently
can reach 50-100mb/min. H/W compression isn't on. Is that normal?
    Thanks in advance.

  2. Re: BENT 8.0 Build 3315, Virus question, tape performance

    1) You can go the E-Mail support page at
    http://seer.support.veritas.com/sear...BEWNT&crumb=on
(URL may be wrapped) and request an update CD.

    2) ?? I don't run V8 yet myself, but V7.3 used NAI (formerly McAffee
    Virus scan

    3) Are your NICs and switches set to auto-negotiate? If so, hared set
them to what ever is appropriate.
