The message in event viewer is "interface not registered". All
the other services start automatically (except for the browser,
which depends on the Job Engine service). Without this the
program won't even start, so nothing can be reconfigured there.
The tape drive is an HP and if the HP driver is used with it,
the Windows backup can be done, so the SCSI and tape drives are
functional. If you attempt to manually start the service, it
fails with the message "Could not start, Error 3041". The only
thing worth noting is that during installation, one error occurs.
It says "The performance counters failed to install correctly".
Have tried different install disks, but this always occurs.
Using SP4 because the mission critical application running on
the servers is only approved for use with that level. Would
appreciate any advice.
