  1. upgrade from 7.2 to 7.3 lost all jobs and job history

I upgraded from 7.2 to 7.3 2570 last night at the end of the upgrade I no
    longer have any jobs listed.

When I did a run once backup it wanted to use backup xx like it new the next
    job # in order.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated since I am in a remote office.
    leaving soon to return home.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

    Two things:

    1) The 7.3 install will ask if you want to backup your old data files to a
directory called BENT.OLD (I did this today). Look to see if you have one.

    2) If you didn't know, the job history files are called jobs7.dat and
jobhist.dat in the DATA directory. All of the restore selections are in the
CATALOG directory. If you can't find any of your old data, you can restore
those directories (redirected somewhere else first, of course), then shut
down all BENT services, rename the current jobs7.dat and jobhist.dat and
copy in the good ones. You can dump the contents of the restored CATALOG
directory into the current CATALOG directory to get your job history back.

    3) Ok, I forgot one. You're media database (media sets) is in a file called
pvl.mdb and pvl_sql.mdb. Definately restore those.

BUT... I noticed during the 7.3 install that it says it needs to update the
format of these files so there might be some incompatibility issues with
restoring how I suggest. Then again, Seagate once told me to save all the
aforementioned files/directories if I wanted to uninstall/reinstall and keep
all of my settings. I did that once and I had no problems afterwards.

If you still have a backup of the old information restore the "data" and "catalogs"
folders from the old and replace the same folders on the new software. It's
a good idea to rename the 7.3 dada/catalogs just in case and you will need
to stop all the backexec services.
