Backup Exec 9.2 OFO problems

Hi,

BackupExec media server and Remote Agents are in version 9.2.1401.5. The
OFO option is used to backup open files. Some of the servers have a SAN connection
and these servers OFO options does not work correctly.

The media server job log displays the following error:
Backup Exec developed an error while trying to synchronize the server using
the Open File Option. The backup will continue without using the open file
option. Please refer to SYS:\SYSTEM\OFM\OFMNW.LOG for further details.

And the remote servers OFO-log (SYS:\SYSTEM\OFM\OFMNW.LOG) display the information:
02007 06 09 00:57:58 Agent requested synchronization.
12007 06 09 00:58:33 NSS wide synchronization failed
02007 06 09 00:58:33 Backup Agent Activity Detected
12007 06 09 00:58:33 System Synchronize Failed
02007 06 09 03:28:05 Agent requested stop synchronization.
02007 06 09 03:28:05 Backup Complete
02007 06 09 03:28:05 System Not Synchronized

As a result OFO is not working and backup is done without OFO (and fails
with open files including GroupWise databases).

Is there a configuration issue with OFO & SAN I am missing?

Start by making these changes:

1. BESTOP
2. Edit sys:\system\ofm\ofmnw.cfg:

VerboseMsgLogging=1
SyncTimeOut=180
WriteInactivityPeriod=1

3. Edit sys:\system\ofmcdm.cfg:

WriteInactivityPeriod = 0x1
SyncTimeOut = 0xB4
VerboseMessageLogging = 0x1
