Thread: Changed password, now jobs won't run

  1. Changed password, now jobs won't run

We had to change the password for the account we use to backup stuff.

I changed the auto logon credentials in BE, and even unloaded it and
reloaded it, but the jobs still fail with invalid credentials.

Where else do I have to change the credential stuff in BE?

Try going to each of your backup sources (Jobs|Backup|Make Selections)
and open each of them. If you get prompted for login credentials,
you're not using auto-login. Anyway, enter your login credentials, if
prompted, and check the box to save it to the password database.
    Repeat for each backup source.

Look in the Jobs themselves. These are files in the BKUPEXEC\JOBDATA
folder with names that have .BKS. in them . You should recognise the
jobs from the file names. They are text files and within them you will
see the username that is being used to login or AUTO_LOGIN_USER (or
similar) if the auto_login is being used.

If you use the Netware client, backups are created using the logged in
user. If you use the Windows client you (probably, if set up) get the
auto_login user. And if you change backups created using one client,
using the other client you get a mess.
