Thread: Tapes don't show up in duplicate job list

  1. Tapes don't show up in duplicate job list

When I'm trying to run a manual duplicate job, it seems that the list of
media available "stops" building after a while.

Meaning, if I look at it today, it stops showing me media as of
    12/11/06.

If I exit and do a BESTOP and then a BESTART, and then go back into the
GUI (on the server), then it'll show me the list of media through
    12/18/06.

After a week or so, it'll stop again.

Is this a bug or do I need to run some sort of catalog job?

Could be a bug. What version/build of Backup Exec do you have? Check in
    sys:\bkupexec\version.doc for details.

Also, if you have any anti-virus software running on this server - make
sure that you exclude the bkupexec and catalog folders (if stored in a
    separate location) from being scanned.

It's definitely a bug and it only happens if using the console on the
NetWare GUI. if I use the console on the workstation it's fine.
    Bizarre.
