  1. After update to latest 9.1 build, duplicate to tapes no longer run

    It was suggested here that I update to the latest build for 9.1 to
    resolve some issues we were having.

    While it seems that the error we were getting has gone away, now the
    "duplicate to tape" jobs no longer run.

    Nothing shows up for an error and nothing show up in the job logs. The
    duplicate job just plain doesn't run.

    I've deleted ALL the jobs and re-created them and they still don't run.

    Backup to Disk works fine.

    Is this a feature of the latest build?

    Apologies, I obviously misread your post. Looks like you have already
    updated to the latest build. Is the original backup ending with a
    status of 'normal'. If there are errors, then the duplicate will not
    run:

    Thanks, although in the past the duplicate HAS worked even when there
    were errors with the B2D. (like an open file, etc.) Or it couldn't
    talk to one of the agents.

    Even with open files agent, there's always one or two files (like the
    open files agent log itself) that cannot be backed up, so the job status
    will show as an error (and then I'll get a successful duplication job--
    in the past).

    However, now the duplicate job is never put on hold (as the first
    article states). It just doesn't run and doesn't show up anywhere in
    the log file as to why (even with a "normal" completion of the source
    job).

    Duplicate jobs never show as Active either.

    Hmm, you may need to rename the job queue and media management files to
    resolve this:

    1. BESTOP
    2. Rename :\bkupexec\mm to mm.old
    3. Rename :\bkupexec\jobdata\jobqueue.idx & .dat to .old1 .old2 etc
    4. BESTART

    Of course, this means that you'll need to re-create all your existing
    jobs, drive pools, media sets etc.

    FWIW, I had frequent problems with automatic duplication jobs under
    9.1, such as what you describe, and also a problem with them not
    rescheduling properly and becoming "disconnected" from the parent job.
    9.2 has been a whole lot more stable in that regard.
