  1. Job Error - Invalid Command

I am consistently receiving and "invalid command" alert with any job I run. I have NW 6 SP2 with BE9 r4174. I am using an Exabyte VXA 1x10. And the job logs show:

Job completed: With ERROR - An invalid command was provided. (24682)

    Thanks for any help.

This could well be your problem - the device isn't on the supported
    list:
    http://support.veritas.com/dsl/lists...ARE_media_all_
    prod1_NW90.htm

    According to:
    http://www.exabyte.com/support/onlin...ies/10094721.p
    df
You can set this drive to emulate an EXB-210, so you might want to try
that (see p.18 & 19 of the manual)

  3. Re: Job Error - Invalid Command

I am getting the exact error running an Exabyte VXA 1x10 on NW6 BE9-4175.
Did you resolve this issue? Or does anyone know what the fix or work around
might be????? Any help would be appreciated....

    Thanks

  4. Re: Job Error - Invalid Command

    Hi Michael,

Actually it looks like they do support it, just an earlier version that did not use a carousel for the tapes. That is directly from Veritas. The EXC-210 emulation did not work either.

    Thanks for the help though.

    Jason

    Hmmm, ok.....

    Should've been EXB-210??

Has it all been sorted then?
If not, and you want to continue in here, please repost the details, my
    newsreader's archived them :-)

  7. Re: Job Error - Invalid Command

I'm not familiar with VXA, but I know with LTO if you configure the job
to retension before backup you'll get that error because retensioning
    isn't supported with LTO tapes.

See if you have retensioning enabled, and if so, try turning it off and
see if the problem goes away.
