FYI: BE9 build 4172.2 was posted on 7/31.
To see it on the veritas support downloads site, make sure to select
"English" and Version "9", it does not come up by default.
According to tech support, it fixes a number of issues, but what specific
    issues - remains a mystery.

  2. Re: new be9 build

FYI: Veritas tech support gave me the following list of fixes in the new
    release.

    Implemented the No_media_present_timeout_response_ldr and
    No_media_present_timeout_response_std_alone configuration

    parameters in the BESRVR.CFG file.

details. >In summary, these configuration settings allow you

to configure how BENW behaves when end of media is

reached and there is no one available to change the media.

Resolved a problem that caused the normally hidden AM/PM

Database Protection Jobs to show up in the job queue. This

release will fix this job and hide it again. This job is

used to make backup copies of the BENW database files on a

    regular schedule.

Improved the handling of OFO errors during a backup operation

so that the specific errors are logged rather than one generic

    error.

The ARDATLDR.NLM driver was updated to fix an issue with

submitting cleaning jobs to a Seagate06241-XXX loader.

The TANDBQIC.NLM driver was updated to provide support for

Tandberg QIC drives that only support 512 byte block sizes.
