  1. New CD now seen by Desktop Pro

    Howdy,

I just installed a new CDRW (don't ask...)

Now, when I launch Desktop Pro, it sees the old CDRW. I read the help
file, tried to run the hardware configuration utility, but it does not
    see the new drive either.

    What should I do next?

    Sincere thanks,
    Kenneth

    Hello again,

Of course, the subject should have read: New CD NOT seen by Desktop
Pro. Also, I should add that the new CDRW is properly installed, and
works fine when I try to read, or write to it from other applications.

    Thanks again,
    Kenneth

    Hello yet again,

The new CDRW is a TDK VeloCD 401248. If that is not supported by the
version of BE I have, might that be the reason it does not display?
Might there be an upgrade path that would allow me to use that CDRW?

    Thanks again for any suggestions,
    Kenneth

you say you have PRO, so I'm guessing you have version 4.5. Try upgrading to
any version higher than 4.6, and you'll be able to see the drive.

  5. Re: New CD now seen by Desktop Pro

Also, on the front of your drive look at the model #, does it have an "X" at
the end (i.e. - 401248X) The versions i pointed out before will allow you to
see it, but it's not a supported drive. Therefor use at your own risk. If
you do deside to use it (and it has the X at the end) you might want to try
    some test runs.

    Hi Chris,

I went to the Stomp site and found that my new drive was supported by
the current version. I did the DL, and now, all is working fine.

    Sincere thanks for your help,

    Kenneth
