Hi,

could someone explain how to extract files from a cpio archive without
creating the directories ?

[gt@Paradise tmp]$ cpio -tv < /tmp/xarchiver-IgAHwU
-rwxr-xr-x 1 1026 gdm 238476 Jun 8 2002 ./usr/bin/nasm
-rwxr-xr-x 1 1026 gdm 96824 Jun 8 2002
../usr/bin/ndisasm
-rw-r--r-- 1 1026 gdm 4484 Jun 8 2002
../usr/man/man1/nasm.1.gz
-rw-r--r-- 1 1026 gdm 1551 Jun 8 2002
../usr/man/man1/ndisasm.1.gz
668 blocks

I want to extract nasm,ndisasm,nasm.1.gz and ndisasm.1.gz in the
current dir:

cpio -i < /tmp/xarchiver-IgAHwU --no-absolute-filenames
cpio: ./usr/bin/nasm: No such file or directory
cpio: ./usr/bin/ndisasm: No such file or directory
cpio: ./usr/man/man1/nasm.1.gz: No such file or directory
cpio: ./usr/man/man1/ndisasm.1.gz: No such file or directory
668 blocks

What is this ? How can I achieve this goal ?

Thank you,
