    No. You have to backup the files and copy them back later.

    Not that I heard of.

    You can very easily encrypt/decrypt individual files, even in batches,
    with dscrypt.exe, a windows utility that runs perfectly in wine.

    Yes, but it is very risky. It is well-advised to have a full backup.



    See section 3.4: Adding encryption to existing file system

    You'll have to know the encryption parameters for the method you want to
    use. Whether it be LUKS or loop-AES. You may wish to join the
    linux-crypto mailing list and inquire there about creating
    LUKS-compatible volumes using aespipe.
