I can launch Alpine in the console with the command

alpine -passfile ~/pwd

and it will open the Inbox without asking me for the password.
The same command in a launcher (under Gnome), copied and psted to make
sure no typos, will make Alpine ask for the passwords. Any ideas where I
am going wrong?
