  1. usb scanner doesn't work: no access in Gutsy

    Hi,

In 7.04 (Feisty) my HP ScanJet worked fine; only had to run this:

    sane-find-scanner

then from the (e.g.) 005:006 output give 005 to:

    sudo chmod a+rw /proc/bus/usb/$1/006

and I could use my scanner. Now, in 7.10 Gutsy, I find /proc/bus is
still there, just not usb/... sane-find-scanner still finds the (e.g.)
005:005, but where is it? How do I activate it now?

    Thanks.

  2. Re: usb scanner doesn't work: no access in Gutsy

    OK, solved; it's /dev/bus/usb/ now.
