  1. PDF printing issue

    Hey NG

I am having issues printing any PDF file to a jet direct printer, and
in fact any way I configure this printer. All others apps print fine,
but when I try to print the PDF, via evince or Acrobat, the printer
shows processing for about 30 seconds, spits the cover page and
    file itself goes to neverland.

    TIA for any help.

Something about printing with Ghostscipt comes to mind.

Nope since I don't do it. Maybe give Google a shot as I'm sure there are
others like you asking similar questions being discussed on a web forum
somewhere. Or you could hang out here and wait for a more specific answer.

I guess my first question would be, can your printer handle PDF's in
native format? I know that we have some HP LaserJets that are Jetdirect
and printing via Jetadmin requires conversion either to PostScript or
some other format that the printer can handle. Have a look at
GhostScript. I've used it to convert PDF's to PS and it works very well
with the right options. If you are still, I'll see if I can snip out the
command that we use and post it here.

Our Windows users have no problem printing. Even if I try to print via
an SMB shared printer it fails.

    Any help will appreciated.
