Use whatever is best for you and your computer. I preferred O/S-2 to
Win-Junk, now Linux. And for Linux, Debian. But when Debian was not up
to snuff for laptop or desktop I used Suse and Ubuntu for a while (and
others previously).

You can use anything you want, at least you have a choice, and most are
FREE or low in cost, and FREE in restrictions and EXCELLENT in quality.

No one is forcing you to use UBUNTU. Also, playing around with
different distributions is a learning experience. One learns a lot by
experimenting.
