Click and hold the restart button and you should get a pop-up menu like
    in your previous version.

I wish it were so. For instance, I have the option to suspend to disk, ram,
or standby on the "Suspend Computer" button, but no options are present on
the "Restart Computer" button, even when I click and hold. I changed
bootloaders from grub to lilo, thinking that might be the problem, but it's
    the same.

Assuming you are running openSUSE 11.0, KDE 3.5, click the KMenu button
(lower left corner), then click on Leave.
Scroll to bottom of list then click on "Start Operating System"

SOS is not one of the options on my LEAVE menu. Thanks anyhow.

are you using the SUSE menu or the KDE menu? (on my 10.3 you can switch between
the two by right clicking the lizzard and choose either "Switch to SUSE menu
style" or "Switch to KDE menu style"....and of the two styles, only the SUSE
style has a "Leave" tab...and, once clicked it is then required to **SCROLL**
down to see the option "Start operating system" below Shutdown, Restart, Suspend
    (Disk and Ram), and Standby..

did you edit the grub menu by hand?
    go to yast/system/bootloader
change a little bit, like time and safe.

It is not there on either the SUSE or KDE menu. Yes, it was there with
10.x. It was only when I went to 11 that the menu pick was missing.

It's just a mystery. I'll keep looking. Not a big deal, just a convenience
thing. Thanks to all for replying.
