  1. Bluetooth issues in 10.3

    Hi there,

    I'm running openSUSE 10.3 on a Dell 1720 laptop. I purchased a Belkin
F8T016NG bluetooth mini-dongle (Broadcom chipset) today, but cannot
get it working with kbluetooth. The device is detected, and running
hciconfig in a terminal shows this...

    linux-bb44:/home/chrisw # hciconfig
    hci0: Type: USB
BD Address: 00:0A:3A:83:82:80 ACL MTU: 1021:8 SCO MTU: 64:1
    UP RUNNING
    RX bytes:251 acl:0 sco:0 events:31 errors:0
    TX bytes:1378 acl:0 sco:0 commands:31 errors:0

....but trying to use any of the KDE bluetooth suite or CLI tools
results in time-outs such as this...

    linux-bb44:/home/chrisw # hcitool scan
    Scanning ...
    Inquiry failed: Connection timed out

I've never used bluetooth in openSUSE/Linux before and unfortunately
available docs/google are as much use as bottled fart gas when
searching for answers. Has anyone managed to get bluetooth working
with these belkin/broadcom devices in openSUSE? TIA for any help...

    Kind regards,

    Chris Wilkinson, Edinburgh.

    Problem solved thanks to...

    http://www.csl.sri.com/users/rushby/bluetooth

openSUSE didn't create any /dev/rfcomm* devices, so manually doing
    that seems to solve it...
