| I have a Vega 1719 laptop. It has been running OpenSUSE 10.3 with only slight problems for a year or so. I decided to do a clean OpenSUSE 11.0 install. That was not a success, so now I have downgraded it to 10.3 again using a backup. The problem is that during boot it says: hda_codec: Unknown model for ALC883, trying auto-probe from BIOS. Then the soundcard produces a high, extremely annoying tone and the computer locks-up. Only way to stop it is to press the off-button. Does anybody have a clue? TIA. Kind regards, Morten Lehrmann |

Reconfig your new audio board as primary and this will save you weeks/months of waiting for kernel support. The Turtle Beach's and the older, simpler Creative boards work for me in both 10.3 and 11.0. |
