It would have been nice if you told us what would be happening on your
side, so that we can compare what is going on, but then perhaps you are
just doing a poll, so I will answer to that: No.

There already is a Poll like that going on on /. :

I get an error message like:
Video is currently supported on the following browsers:
Internet Explorer 6, 7 for Windows
Firefox 1.5,2,3 for Windows
Firefox 1.5,2,3 for Mac
Safari 2 & 3 for Mac

If this is a poll, then I say
a. No

Yeah, I kinda figured that was obvious, which is why I asked the question.

For some reason, the powers that be support BSD (MacOS) but not other *nix
systems.

You do mean without turning on my Windows machine? :-) :-)

I set Konqueror to tell that site I was using Internet Explorer 6 on WinXP,
but it wanted my to install MS Silverlight.

I set Konqueror to tell that site I was using Safari 2 on OSX, but it knew I
was lying and just gave that error message again.

So much for the MS - Novell co-operation.
MS turns around and stabs us all Linux users in the back.
Yes it was MS and not NBC that choose that route.

So next time you even think Win something, go wash your brain with soap and
NEVER buy anything with any MS brand on it!

And then we should do a class action suit against NBC for discrimination
based on OS. At the least inform all their advertisers.

And I AM being absolutely serious!

That has absolutely nothing to do with anything. Sounds like a bad
attempt to trolling.

So can we get back to technical issues now?

NBC is run by MSN so not just the Olympics but all of their streaming
video does not work with Linux. I think the site checks to see the
operating system, ie, M$ or Apple which has license agreement with M$.

Ahh, it is silverlight.

The - we-don't-like-paying-for-flash-so-we'll-pay-more-to-do-it-ourselves -
application.

I think I have moonlight installed. I wonder why MSNBC doesn't do better
with that.
