Thread: SMCWUSB-N driver (ralink rt2820)?

  1. SMCWUSB-N driver (ralink rt2820)?

    Can't find any drivers for this dongle. Would the 2x00 ones work?

  2. Re: SMC WUSB-N & WCB-N drivers rt2820, ar5416, ar2414?

    Only found a single google entry with linux and rt2820 on the net.

    rt2x00.serialmonkey.com :: View topic - rt2x00 802.11n devices
    RT2800U = USB 1.1/2.0, 802.11b/g/n, with RT2870 + RT2820

    The cache link doesn't bring it up either.

    Also need drivers for a wifi buscard: SMCWCB-N using Atheros
    ar5416 & ar2133 chipsets. This is for a Toshiba A70 with all
    the Suse-10.3 madwifi packages installed. The Yast Network
    Card Setup Hardware page for it shows only a ghosted kernel
    module section.

    I've put the USB problem on hold, the buscard is more urgent.

    Upgraded everything to the latest:
    madwifi-0.9.3.99-36.i586
    madwifi-dev-0.9.3.99-36.i586
    madwifi-kpm-default-0.9.3.3_2.6.22.16_0.2-0.i386
    kernel-default-2.6.22.17-0.1
    kernel-source-2.6.22.17-0.1

    but nothing has changed except that instead of a ghosted
    module box in Yast I now get a clear one that takes input.
    Inseerting ath_pci or ath_hal doesn't change the rest though.

    The card doesn't even blink. At the same time nothing
    automounts either. I do get a popup when inserting a USB
    stick but opting for "open in new window" only results in

    "hal-storage-mount-removable no <-- (action, result)"

    So I wonder if this detection (hal?) problem might be related?
