Install of 10.3 hangs
I am trying to install the 64-bit OpenSUSE 10.3 on a Gateway GT5628.
Its specs are:
Gateway GT5628 Quad Core Desktop / Intel® Core 2 Q6600 2.4GHz Quad
Core / 3072MB RAM / 500GB 7200 SATA II HD / DVD ±RW 18X multi dual/
NVIDIA GeForce® 8500GT DVI VGA/NVIDIA GeForce® 8500GT/15-in-1 reader/
Fax/Modem /
But when I use the install DVD, it stops installing after it displays
"loading pata_it821x_"
How do I get past this?
Thanks,
Jim

Did you do the Media Check at the beginning of the install? This is
specially relevant if you burned the DVD yourself from a downloaded iso. I
have found on several occasions that burning a DVD too fast succeeds
according to K3B but then fails to install. Burning slowly (x8) was the
answer.

I did the media check. I had to disable that driver, and then it
worked.
