    One running process listed by ps aux is:

    root 3640 0.0 0.0 64412 1932 ? S 08:00 0:00 -:0

    What is the -:0 command. Is it significant?

    It isn't a command, per se.

    It is the name that your graphical login command substitutes into the process
    listing for /your/ login. It comes in two parts:
    - the '-', which signifies that the process is a login process (the root
    of the process tree for a logged in user), and
    - the ':0', which indicates which X display (in this case the :0 display)
    that the login process belongs to.
