  1. GRUB issue - Error occured while installing GRUB

Trying to install SUSE 10.2 from DVD. All goes well until it attempts to
config and install the GRUB bootloader.

Below is the output it's giving me:

    |-------------------------------------------------------------------------|

    Error occured while installing GRUB.

GNU GRUB version 0.97 (640k lower/3072k upper memory)

[Minimal BASH - like editing is supported. For the first word, TAB lists
possible command completions. Anywhere else TAB list the possible
    completions of a device/filename.]

    grub> setup --stage2=/boot/grub/stage2 (hd0) (/dev/hdd,5)

Error 23: Error while parsing number

    grub> quit

    |--------------------------------------------------------------------------|

Does the same thing on different 'know good' drives to add after
several re-download attempts (different sites & methods) and multiple
    image burns.

    Any suggestions?

    Russ

I had that always with 9 or 9.2 really used to p**s me off, on every
install. It's not that your disks are at fault, it's saying a passed
parameter is at fault. It's so long ago now that I can't remember the exact
change I made, but I clicked on "edit" (I think) and either removed of
changed a parameter then clicked "retry, or write" maybe.

Do a search of Google. Sorry I'm not much help other than to confirm it's
    not your disk.
