Five Years Ahead of Deadline, Three Percent Over Target, Sun Exceeds Aims
Five years ahead of schedule and several percentage points above its
target, Sun Microsystems has succeeded in reducing its greenhouse gas
(GHG) emissions through the use of workplace innovation and energy
efficient technologies and services. Sun SPARC Enterprise servers
using CoolThreads technology are central to this achievement, which
was recognized by the Environmental Protection Agency. Sun has
declared its commitment to a further reduction of 20% in its GHG
emissions by 2015.
