It's All Possible with Sun's UltraSPARC T2 Processor with SMT

Sun's first response to the IT dilemma of needing to do more with
fewer resources was to introduce the UltraSPARC T1 processor with

cores and 64 threads, to which Sun recently added symmetric
multiprocessing (SMT), enabling multiple CMT processors to be used
within a single system. The impact on energy costs and throughput has
been enormous, Chip Brookshaw reports, freeing the processor from the
limits formerly imposed by clock speed.
