  1. adding memory in v210?

    hello all,
i have a v210 with 2x1Gb RAM. Do you think it is interesting to add more
memory in it, like 2x1Gb or 2x2Gb, or this is too expensive and the best
choice is to change the server?
This machine is a sunray server but it becomes unusable after 10 users.

    thanks for advice,

    gerard

    Hi Gerard,
Does the server have to be a Sparc server?
How many users are you trying to support?
What is the memory usage of each user (prstat -t) ?
How many CPU's and what speed?
if you have 2 CPU's you can add 6GB of third party memory (Total 8GB :-)

    Cheers
    Richard.

Crucial's website shows the 2x1GB kit going for $192, which sounds like
a pretty cheap upgrade to me - a lot cheaper than getting a new server.
Whether it make a huge difference remains to be seen.
