Server Architectures, Hardware Components and Software Requirements

A new course is designed to offer students the necessary information to
describe the Sun Fire[TM] V210 and Sun Fire[TM] V240 server
architectures, identify hardware components and software requirements
and troubleshoot system faults with Sun's diagnostic tools and
utilities. Course content includes:

- Module 1 -- Introducing the Sun Fire V210 and Sun Fire V240
Servers: Identifies the basic features and their server hardware
environment.

- Module 2 -- Describing the Sun Fire V210 and Sun Fire V240 Server
Architecture: Describes the logical overview of the servers and the
major ASIC purpose and functions.

- Module 3 -- Locating and Describing Major System Components:
Identifies the chassis locations where the two servers' components
reside. Identifies the components on the front bezel, front panel,
front chassis and rear chassis.

- Module 4 -- Removing and Replacing Sun Fire V210 and Sun Fire V240
Server FRUs: Describes how to prepare for removing and installing
FRUs for the front panel and chassis and rear panel.

- Module 5 -- Describing the Sun Fire V210 and Sun Fire V240 Servers
Specific Software Requirements: Identifying Solaris[TM] 8 Operating
System (Solaris OS) requirements.

- Module 6 -- Troubleshooting Sun Fire V210 and Sun Fire V240 Server
Errors: Describes the functions of the POST used for
troubleshooting.
