Vol 71 Issue 3 2004-01-19 Article 11973 from section "Features"
Gives Graphics Market Tool for Rapid Evaluation, Deployment of OpenGL[R] API
Members of the Khronos Group have ratified the OpenGL[R] ES 1.0
Adopter's Package and Conformance Testing Program, making it available
to users who require rapid evaluation, deployment and acceptance of the
OpenGL ES API in embedded markets that employ state-of-the-art 3-D
The Adopter's Package contains official Conformance Tests for the OpenGL
ES 1.0 API; an open source sample implementation of the OpenGL ES API
created as a wrapper over a desktop implementation on Windows and Linux
OS; and an executable copy of Hybrid Graphic's Gerbera solution,
supporting an OpenGL ES library for Windows.
The Conformance Testing Program is intended to promote consistent
implementations of the API by numerous vendors across multiple platforms
and to create an objective definition of conformance for the API. The
Adopter's package defines a peer review Conformance Testing Procedure by
which conformant products may use the OpenGL ES trademark, which is
available after paying a Conformance Test submission fee that covers the
costs of development and maintenance of the Conformance Program.
Access to the OpenGL ES Adopter Package is available to any interested
company by executing the Khronos OpenGL ES 1.0 Adopter's Agreement. Full
details of the Adopter's Agreement, the Adopter's Package and the OpenGL
ES Conformance Testing Procedure can be found at:
