There isn't one, AFAIK. Most of the Sun servers don't have a machine
readable serial # (aka the system serial # that's printed on the box).

Many admins fix this problem by updating the eeprom oem-banner parameter
with this value prior to putting the system in service. Sounds like you
didn't. So you'll have to go to the remote site and read the value with
a flashlight.

system EEPROM for storage of the Chassis Serial Number and any other
important user-defined data such as asset, contract, or location

other service-related information can significantly simplify activities
related to system service and asset management.

sneep is only a partial solution. You still need to tell Sneep what the
serial number of the system is in the first place.

Once you've told it the serial number it will remember it for the future,
but it is no way of getting it in the first place.
