    Uhhh, buy one??

Get a Pioneer DVD burner, it's the same one Apple uses, and is
supported by all of Apple's applications. Most of the mailorder houses
carry them for around $40 for the plain drive. Not sure of which Mac
you have, but you'll probably have to take the door off of the tray.

I see from another post that you have a MacBook, presumably the cheapest
    model.

If you want to burn a DVD (presumably from files on your computer), your
    options are:

    (a) Copy the files in question to another computer which has a DVD
    writer and burn it there.

    (b) Buy or borrow an external DVD writer for use with your MacBook,
preferably one which is fully compatible with Apple's standard drivers
so that it works with all software which can burn DVDs.

    (c) Modify your MacBook by replacing the drive mechanism with a
Superdrive equivalent. This will void your warranty.

    (d) Sell your MacBook and buy one which has a DVD writer.

Exactly what you mean by "burn a DVD" might offer more options. If you
actually mean "burn a DVD-Video disc" then depending on the video source
you might have non-computer options such as a consumer DVD recorder.
