Thread: SSH no local connection

  1. SSH no local connection

    Hello

I'm trying to get ssh to work on local network to be used later
from home to work. I realize this key authentication should be
easy but the solution eludes me. I have installed fresh copies of:

    OpenSSH_3.9p1, OpenSSL 0.9.7d 17 Mar 2004

with fink on both machines, both running:

    Mac OS X 10.4.3

Line 22 So far so good...
Line 55 Isn't this the key that should be hooking up with my public
    key on the server?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    1) From your transcript it looks as if you created authorized_keys on the
client. It must be on the server; otherwise, how does the server know
    anything about your key?

    2) Make sure your home directory is also only owner-writable.

Ummm... just out of curiosity: why are you using fink instead of the
    already installed SSHd?
