putty to freebsd - SSH

This is a discussion on putty to freebsd - SSH ; Hi. putty.exe (development version 2005-11-08:r6450) can't connect to FreeBSD hosts (tested with FreeBSD v4.11 & v5.4) if password auth is used.     Hi.

    putty.exe (development version 2005-11-08:r6450) can't connect to
    FreeBSD hosts (tested with FreeBSD v4.11 & v5.4) if password auth is
    used. No problem if authenticating with public keys (dsa or rsa2).

    EventLog I. pageant.exe started. authorized_keys on freebsd is clean.

    Symptom: connection frozen after "Using username .." message.

    I got error after entering password.

    If I press Ctrl-D in 'Password' prompt session is freeze putty.exe keep
    running. Event Log contain

    The authentication code was overhauled in r6437 to fix some bugs and
    make some features easier to add. Looks like I introduced some new bugs.

    Please direct further correspondence to to
    avoid cluttering up the newsgroup.

    I know what this is too. The session isn't frozen, it's just that the
    window fails to indicate it's inactive. Hopefully I'll get around to
    fixing it before the next release.

    Should be fixed as of tomorrow's snapshot (>= r6459).
