See the mrtg docs on how you specify how MRTG is converting counters into
time relative values. Depending on your MRTG configuration this is either
req/sec or req/min.

The value Squid gives to MRTG is the total number of requests since Squid
was last restarted. It is MRTG which converts this into req/sec or req/min
based on your MRTG configuration.
