Thread: Is download of Solaris patches free?

  1. Is download of Solaris patches free?

I pray you get comfort and I pray you get peace.

I am not sure if Sun allows free downloads of os patches. If Sun does
not allow free download of patches, then, I suggest that Sun allow
free download of certain patch clusters, like, for instance security
patches to EVERYONE. This would, for one thing, allow hobbyists and
allow those who buy used Sun hardware, to learn upon, and allow
others, to, among other things secure their systems and keep their
    systems updated.

Please advise me if this suggestion needs to be made to Sun, any ideas
    in this regard will help.

    I apologize for inconveniencing you.

All security patches and some other patches are free.

A few moments before composing this post, I had written to the email
address in the "SUN ALERT WEEKLY SUMMARY REPORT" newsletter, I got a
response from a Sun employee!!!!. It is a testimony to the great
customer service and perhaps the unparalleled professionalism which
Sun has that I got a response from Sun within 10-15 minutes of my
writing to Sun. Perhaps unmatched quality!!!!!!!!!!

It usually takes them about a week to reset my login to the sun website,
which is fine, because most of their websites are usually broken, down, or
    being phased out anyways.

Sun really doesn't get this whole "internet" thing yet.

When the SunSolve machinery is online and working, Martin Paul's
PCA makes downloading and installing them simple.

It would be more correct to say "IF the Sunsolve machinery is online and
    working. . . ."

Nobody sees anything amusing here? I've never really thought of my OS
patches and my faith in the same breath, maybe because until now I've always
had MS. The transcript sounds like they were praying together.

I'll be far away from computer on national prayer day this thursday. They
have a prayer walk for peace on which I'll tell any listening party what's
for with this supposedly Christian war cabal that has subverted our
constitutional democracy. I hope that the reverse communication is a
    pleasant amount of sun.
