Thread: catman error

  1. catman error

Though those files are found I got that error message .
    # pwd
    /usr/share/man/man1
    # catman
/usr/man/man1/er_html.1: No such file or directory
/usr/man/man1/er_internal.1: No such file or directory
/usr/man/man1/er_kernelX.1: No such file or directory
/usr/man/man1/spot.1: No such file or directory
/usr/man/man1/er_html.1: No such file or directory
/usr/man/man1/er_internal.1: No such file or directory
/usr/man/man1/er_kernelX.1: No such file or directory
/usr/man/man1/spot.1: No such file or directory
/usr/lib/getNAME: er_html.1: No such file or directory
/usr/lib/getNAME: er_internal.1: No such file or directory
/usr/lib/getNAME: er_kernelX.1: No such file or directory
/usr/lib/getNAME: spot.1: No such file or directory

  2. Re: catman error

    Hi,

these manpages are part of the Sun Studio software (or however
the software is called today). Check where those symlinks are
pointing to and ensure that the software is still there.

    $ ls -l /usr/man/man1/er_html.1

....will most likely point to something linke /opt/SUNWspro/man/man1/
and the error messages are the result of the missing pages there
(e.g. if you mounted the target location via NFS and the directory
is no longer there or if you upgraded SUNSpro* on the server but
    not on this client etc.).

    Bye,
    Wolfgang.
