I have installed Solaris 10 (SunOS Release 5.10 Version Generic_120012-14
32-bit) on a x86 platform (Asus P4P800 motherboard, 3C940 Gigabit LOM NIC).
I have pkgadd'ed the sol3C940 driver downloaded from the web and configured
the files /etc/inet/hosts, /etc/inet/ipnodes, /etc/resolv.conf,
/etc/defaultrouter, /etc/hostname.tcge0, /etc/nsswitch.conf, /etc/netmasks.

During reboot, I get loads of messages like this:

Oct 29 16:49:26 ccarchi-pc4 tcge: [ID 610292 kern.notice] tcge0: -- ERROR
Oct 29 16:49:26 ccarchi-pc4 Class: Hardware failure
Oct 29 16:49:26 ccarchi-pc4 Nr: 0x264
Oct 29 16:49:26 ccarchi-pc4 Msg: unexpected IRQ Status error
Oct 29 16:49:26 ccarchi-pc4 tcge: [ID 285869 kern.notice] ERROR: tcge0:
SkDrvEvent: Adapter failed!

However, once the system is fully booted to run-level 3 and I log into
a desktop session, the NIC is operational: I can ping computers outside
my subnet, even surf the web. But when I do a command line login, I see
the ERROR message is still produced.

Has anyone experienced this and found the solution ?
