I don't know what the chipset in that one is, but you may get joy from
using the bits supplied at http://www.opensolaris.org , notably the frkit.
You should be able to do some extra ID of the HW with /usr/X11/bin/scanpci

Have you tried the frkit stuff ? It should allow you to plumb up the
wireless device as pclw0

Thing is, I can't see any sign of you card in the scanpci list.
Not sure why you are trying ath0, the 3 com should com up as elx0 and the
orinoco is a prism (I think) , so you need

Have you tried
ifconfig -a plumb
?
Bruce Riddle appears to have had Orinoco working
http://www.riddleware.com/solx86/PCMCIA/readme.txt.html
Also try Lynsoft

Re: Solaris 10 dell truemobile 1150 driver
Bruce,
ath0 was my idea /somehow, i cannot get off linux thinking :-) /,
3com is elxl0 now and is ok
i think wlan is like cardbus device in the list, but i cannot get any
other info from other os now /no linux live cd here and win is away
since i bought this laptop.
so, installed pcwl.
after reboot i tried
# ifconfig pcwl0
ifconfig: status: SIOCGDLIFFLAGS: pcwl0: no such interface
# ifconfig -a plumb
ifconfig: SIOCSLIFNAME for ip: elxl0: already exists
# ifconfig pcwl0
pcwl0: flags=100842 mtu 1500 index 3
inet: 0.0.0.0 netmask 0
ether 0:2:2d:5b:c8:ca
now wificonfig accepts pcwl0 as wlan interface and i though i have done
it, but after restart i have to run in terminal again
ifconfig -a plumb
because pcwl0 interface is missing again.
solaris is for me something new, but as it seems it is more interesting
than lurking with linux.
thanx for your help

Thats because you have not old it to bring up the interface at boot :-)

add an entry to /etc/hosts
eg (substitute laptop with your prefered server name)
---8<
#
# Internet host table
#
127.0.0.1 localhost laptop. loghost
10.1.1.10 laptop
---8<
Then
# echo "laptop" >/etc/hostname.pcwl0
(Also check /etc/netmasks is set correctly)
This will cause the NIC to plumb up and be populated at boot time.
Or, you could run
sys-unconfig
and reboot, you will then be asked the config questions again and will
populate the files for you
But, as it is a laptop, I suggest you utilise inetmenu
http://www.opensolaris.org/os/commun...ptop/inetmenu/
