Failed to program IO space [0/1/1] BAR@0x10 length 0x20
This is perhaps not the best place to ask, but I thought I'd try:
I tried to install Solaris Express Nevada Build 33 on a x64 PC (single core
64-bit Opteron 248).
The odd thing is when it boots, is says:
SunOS Release 5.11 Version snv_33 32-bit
yet this is a 64-bit CPU. Is that right? Perhaps there is only 32-bit
distributed in Solaris Express. That rather makes it useless for me, as an
application I want to run will only work on Solaris 10 x86 64-bit. But anyway, I
am interested to play. But things don't look too hopeful though:

Anyone know what the 'WARNING: Failed to program IO space [0/1/1] BAR@0x10
length 0x20' relates to? I've tried turning everything off in the BIOS (cache,
USB, RAID), but it still gives the same error.
Hardware:
Tyan Thunder KW8E S2895 (model with SCSI controller, S2895UA2NRF)
Bios 1.03 on motherboard.
Single 64-bit single-core Opteron 248.
HP DVD drive.
Sony Floppy.
DVD written with Nero on a Windoze PC (I don't have a DVD writer on my Sun).
Since there are no checksums on Sun's site for the downloads, I can't be sure
the downloaded images are correct. But this is what I have:

I forgot, add to that lot a Gigabyte nvida 6600 PCI-express graphics card.

The installation miniroot only contains a 32bit kernel. After installation
the 64bit kernel should be bootet automatically.

Haven't seen these messages on my machine.

Have you tried interrupting the boot process with ^C here? Most of the time
the installer tries to configure network settings and seems to hang until run
into a timeout if no network is attached (or no rarp/bootparms or dhcp server
is responding)

I just did an install of snv_33 by myself on my (very similar machine). I
just did a network install (don't want to waste a DVD for every snv release).
First I did a test install (Reduced Networking Core Support) but forgot that
this install type practically locks you in your machine if not customized
during installation (no NFS, no ssh/ftp/..., so no easy way to get information
in and out the machine).
A second installation is running ATM (Entire Distribution).
A few details on my machine:
1. S2895 mainboard (without SCSI controller)
2. BIOS 1.03
3. Two Opteron 252
4. 4 GB RAM
In the BIOS I left "installed OS" at "WinXP Pro" (I did *not* change it to
"Other")
If installation is finished I can send you some additional information
(smbios output, more BIOS settings, etc.)
Below my boot messages from the install server:

No, I did not. However, whilst I download the DVD image, I created CD#1 from
Solaris 10 update 1 01/06, since I already had the CD images on my hard disk.
Whilst I have not done an install, that looks to go OK without a hitch. But the
Solaris express build 33 does not, but I have not tried interrupting.
