"cntrl sharing DMA engine between channels"?
Hi,
In the hopes of trying to get a better idea of why I can't get DMA
enabled on a system with an A7A266 motherboard, I installed Solaris 10.
In the /var/adm/messages, I can see messages for the hard drive (Samsung
SP2014N):
ATA DMA off: cntrl sharing DMA engine between channels"
Right now, I have the hard drive on IDE0 master, and a CD drive on IDE1
master, i.e., only 1 drive per IDE channel.
Can anyone explain what the above information means, and tell me if
there is a workaround for it?
Thanks,
Jim
