  1. Solaris 10x86 reboot after applied Recommended Patch

    Dear Experts,

    Need your help.

I installed Solaris 10 x86 (03/05) to vmware. After the OS
installation, i applied the latest x86 Recommended Patch and reboot the
server. However, the server cannot start normally, it only reboot,
    reboot and reboot...

How can i further investigate the problem?
And any special procedures for x86 patching in vmware?

    Many thanks,
    Angus

    Recent S10 x86 kernel patches 118844-19 / 118844-20 break Solaris 10
x86 running in a vmware environment (and on certain pc hardware, e.g.
    like this ).

A workaround is to boot the kernel with option "-k" (type "b -k" at
    the boot prompt)

    No.

Use the "-k" workaround. Or backout the buggy patch. Or apply the
updated kernel fix that will fix this problem, whenever the patch will
become available. IIRC, it'll be 118844-25 that fixes this problem.
