Hi All,

We've noticed some strange behaviour using the Solaris V8 SNMP agent.
If we issue SNMPGETs against counters on Solaris servers on a frequent
basis (e.g. every 5 seconds, every minute), the figures returned don't
show continually updated data. It seems as though Solaris only updates
the values returned by SNMP about every 45 seconds to a minute - which
makes a mess of low level reporting. This applies both to host
counters, and standard network counters. Does anybody know if this
behaviour can be changed, and the update frequency modified? Most
other SNMP agents in our experience continually update the data - but
Sun seems to behave differently.

Due to having to use SunMC, moving to NET-SNMP or similar would be
problematic.

Any help or ideas welcomed.
