  1. Problem with traphandle

    Hello,

I am working on Linux Debian and I would like to configure my snmptrapd to
    execute commands on specific traps.
SNMPD and SNMPTRAPD are working fine, only problem is that I cannot find how
to properly prepare snmptrapd.conf file to react on specific mib.

    snmptrapd.conf
    traphandle .1.3.6.1.4.1.318.2.3.3.0 /usr/bin/mail -s "TEMP" admin
traphandle default /usr/bin/mail -s "OTHER" admin

    ------
when I send trap from my APC ENV MONITOR I recieve an email like this with
    subject OTHER:
    172.10.11.x
    172.10.11.x

    ..1.3.6.1.2.1.1.3.0 6:7:37:12.48

    ..1.3.6.1.6.3.1.1.4.1.0 .1.3.6.1.4.1.318.0.254

    ..1.3.6.1.4.1.318.2.3.3.0 "0"

    ..1.3.6.1.4.1.318.2.3.3.0 "Env Monitor"

    ..1.3.6.1.4.1.318.2.3.1.0 21

    ..1.3.6.1.4.1.318.2.3.3.0 "C"

    ..1.3.6.1.4.1.318.2.3.1.0 3

    ..1.3.6.1.4.1.318.2.3.3.0 "Rem Env Probe 1"

..1.3.6.1.4.1.318.2.3.3.0 "EMU: Probe 3 'Rem Env Probe 1' high temperature
    violation cleared, '21C'."

    ..1.3.6.1.6.3.18.1.3.0 172.10.11.x

    ..1.3.6.1.6.3.18.1.4.0 "public"

    ----------------------------------------------

so the trap hits the default rule, what do I need to change to make it
    working?

    best regards

    Marcin

So the trap you're receiving has the OID

    .1.3.6.1.4.1.318.0.254
    yes?

    Try
    traphandle .1.3.6.1.4.1.318.0.254 /usr/bin/mail -s "TEMP" admin

The OID "1.3.6.1.4.1.318.2.3.3.0" appears to be one of the information
objects, not the OID of the trap itself.
