    Rathin,
Yes it is possible. You will need the OV SDK to make it easier and
document the APIs. You will register for messages when network
elements of your choice are discovered by OV, and then you will
complete the legacy discovery of the devices that OV knows nothing
about. You will probably create new icons to represent your unique
products, and add them to the network topology data base to be
displayed with all the other devices known. These may involve
hierarchical submaps if your equipment needs to be represented this
way. You can also maintain the color status of objects as you become
aware of changes through polling or traps. It might be a simple matter
for a simple device, or a considerable task for many complex network
elements if you want to represent accurate dynamic status. HP offers a
developers course to teach you how, or you can download the reference
manuals and learn by yourself. Check the HP Openview web pages for
    further insight.
Many major vendors of networking equipment have developed
extensive plugins for their own products to facilitate management of
their products on the OpenView platform. CiscoWorks from Cisco,
Advision from ADTRAN, Lucent, XyPlex, Bay Networks, HP, Lucent are
some historic examples that demonstrated quality integration. You will
see more recent developments at trade shows. They interoperate well
    together, but are not free.
    HTH,
    Phil
